Jyotiraditya Scindia Mother Passes Away: Discover Madhavi Raje Scindia's Legacy
Madhavi Raje Scindia, the mother of Union Civil Aviation Minister and the Bharatiya Janata Party stalwart Jyotiraditya Scindia, passed away today, according to a report shared on X by ANI, a news agency.
The demise of Madhavi Raje occurred at 9:28 a.m. at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Hospital in Delhi today, where she had been receiving treatment for the past two months, as confirmed by a statement from Jyotiraditya Scindia's office.

Madhavi Raje, affectionately known as the 'Rajmata' of the Gwalior Royal Family, was the spouse of the Maharaj of the royal family of Gwalior, a Congress leader, and a former Union Minister, Madhav Rao Scindia II, who tragically lost his life in a plane crash in 2001.
On May 6, 1996, they tied the knot in Delhi. Their wedding was the talk of the town; a special train was arranged for their wedding procession from Gwalior to Delhi. Following the wedding, they received a grand welcome with flowers that decorated the whole way leading to the palace. The couple was blessed with two sons, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chitrangada Singh.
She was born into Nepal's royal family; her grandfather, Judd Shamsher Jang Bahadur, was the head of the Rana dynasty and served as the Prime Minister of Nepal from 1932 to 1945. Additionally, she was the daughter of the Army General of Madhesh Province in Nepal, as per the Business Today report.
Beyond her familial connections, Madhavi Raje was recognised for her philanthropic endeavours; she led 24 trusts, particularly in the realms of education and healthcare.
She chaired Scindias Kanya Vidyalaya's board, a school for girls. She also founded the Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia II gallery to honour her late husband.
The family, senior BJP and Congress leaders mourn the loss. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on the lives of many.
