July 29 To July 31 School Holidays: All Govt, Private Schools To Be Closed In This State Due To Heavy Rains
Heavy rains have caused schools to close in 11 districts of Rajasthan. The affected areas include Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Jhalawar, Kota, Pali, and Sirohi. Classes are expected to resume once the flood situation improves. The weather department has reported that these regions are experiencing flood-like conditions due to the continuous downpour.
In response to the severe weather conditions, a red alert has been issued for three districts by the Jaipur Meteorological Center. Additionally, five districts are under an orange alert and 19 under a yellow alert for Tuesday. Relief from the heavy rains is anticipated only after August 1.

Impact on Transportation and Infrastructure
In Sirohi, a private school bus carrying 35 children became stranded on a culvert over the Keral River. Meanwhile, in Chittorgarh, two motorcyclists were swept away while crossing the Bedach river bridge. In Bhilwara's Bijolia area, roads have turned into waterways with boats navigating through them.
The situation in Jhalawar has deteriorated in several villages due to incessant rain. In Jaipur, evening showers led to waterlogged streets causing traffic jams and difficulties in low-lying areas.
Rainfall Statistics Across Districts
According to the Jaipur meteorological centre, significant rainfall was recorded across various districts in Rajasthan over the past 24 hours. Ramganj Mandi in Kota saw the highest rainfall at 242 mm, while Jaitura in Bhilwara received 235 mm. In West Rajasthan's Pali district, Bali recorded 88 mm of rain.
Other notable rainfall figures include Bakani in Jhalawar with 61 mm, Atru in Baran with 43 mm, and Bijolia in Bhilwara with 64 mm. Nainwan in Bundi received 28 mm of rain and Behror in Alwar recorded 31 mm.
Government Response and Relief Efforts
The State Education Minister Madan Dilawar visited rain-affected areas in his constituency Ramganjmandi on Monday. He assessed relief operations while riding a tractor through submerged colonies like Kumbhkot Basti. His tour included Haripura, Julmi, Deolikhurd, and Sandpur villages where he monitored flood conditions.
To assist with relief efforts, two Civil Defense teams along with one SDRF team have been deployed to Ramganjmandi area. An SDSF team is also stationed at Sultanpur and Pipalda to manage emergencies arising from floods.
Weather Forecast and Future Expectations
The monsoon trough line has returned to its normal position from the north passing through Bikaner and Kota as per Radheshyam Sharma from Jaipur meteorological centre. This shift is expected to bring more heavy rains on Monday as well as on July 29th and 30th across many districts.
The administration had already declared school holidays on July 29 due to heavy rain warnings extending them further for some districts like Jhalawar which include Kota Chittorgarh Tonk Bhilwara Baran Dungarpur Dholpur Salumber Banswara Ajmer among others.
