Things turned ugly in the Supreme Court during the hearing of the judge Loya case. The hearing in the case continued on Monday and there were some heated arguments.

During the course of the arguments, Justice Chandrachud warned counsel Dushyant Dave. You cannot shout me down. You have to listen to the judge, he said.

Dave responded by saying, I will not listen to you. To which Justice Chandrachud replied, " then we will not listen to you."

Dave then said, Harish Salve who appeared for Amit Shah is not appearing for the Maharashtra government in the PIL. Salve is now protecting Shah, he said. He went on to say that a PIl was filed to sabotage the petitions in the Bombay High Court.

The counsel for the petitioner Pallav Sisodia took offence and said, ' you can go to hell or heaven, we do not care. He even said Salve is capable of looking after himself.

Justice Chandrachud said, ' we had appeared as juniors in this court. But now the dialogue has degenerated so much that it has become oppresive. Dave responded, "I will tell you what is oppressive. Salve appearing for Shah and now for the Maharashtra government. That is oppression.'

Justice Chandrachud said let us not reduce the level of dialogue in this court to that of a fish market. have regard to the portraits of the judges in this room. You have a conscience, Dave said to which Justice Chandrachud replied, "please w know how to listen to our conscience." He further said that irrespective of the banter from both sides, we will hear every aspect.
