Jobs Alert! Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Promises One Crore Jobs By 2030
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a significant plan to create government jobs and employment opportunities for one crore youth by 2030. This ambitious target is double the previous goal set for the 2020-2025 period. The announcement comes as Bihar gears up for assembly elections expected later this year, tentatively in October or November.
Highlighting past achievements, Nitish Kumar stated that Bihar is on track to meet its current goal of generating employment for 50 lakh youth. So far, 10 lakh government jobs have been provided, and nearly 39 lakh individuals have found employment through various state initiatives.

Private Sector and Industrial Focus
To achieve the new target by 2030, Kumar emphasised the importance of creating more job opportunities in the private sector, particularly in industrial areas. He announced the formation of a high-level committee to oversee the planning and implementation of this employment expansion.
The Chief Minister also reflected on Bihar's employment journey since 2005, noting that over 8 lakh government jobs were provided between 2005 and 2020. This reiterates his longstanding commitment to youth employment and empowerment in the state.
Skill Development University Announced
Nitish Kumar unveiled plans for Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Skill University under the Saat Nischay initiative. This university aims to boost skill development by connecting youth with self-employment opportunities and industry-relevant training.
In another announcement aimed at easing travel for migrants from Bihar during festivals, Nitish Kumar revealed plans to introduce nearly 300 inter-state buses. These buses will operate on routes connecting states like Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi.
Migrant Convenience During Festivals
The new fleet will include 75 air-conditioned and 74 deluxe buses, with a budget of ₹105.82 crore approved by the state cabinet on June 24. Additionally, 150 more AC buses will be introduced under a public-private partnership model.
In a social media post, Kumar highlighted the challenges faced by Bihar residents travelling home for festivals such as Chhath Puja, Holi, Diwali, and Durga Puja. He noted that this bus service would provide critical support during peak festive traffic.
CM Nitish also mentioned that the state government would request the Centre to operate additional special trains during these festivals to further ease travel burdens on returning residents.
