J&K: Braid chopping scare continues as probe committee is formed
Meanwhile local information technology companies which employ a large number of women have been asked to take extra precautionary measures.
With over 200 incidents of braid chopping being reported in Jammu and Kashmir, a committee has been constituted to probe such incidents. The district administration in Anantnag constituted the committee to probe braid chopping incidents after several complaints were lodged.

The administration has sought the cooperation of the general public to nab the culprits.
Meanwhile local information technology companies which employ a large number of women have been asked to take extra precautionary measures. Most firms have been told to allow their women staff to leave early amidst scares of braid chopping.
The police on the other hand say that they have not got any concrete proof about such incidents. Most of the people do not provide a correct account of what exactly happened.
Some women complained to the police they were drugged and their braid chopped off.
