Following the nomination period, the scrutiny of papers is set for May 7, with the final date for withdrawal on May 9. A significant number of voters, totaling over 81.90 lakh, including 39.95 lakh women, are eligible to cast their votes in these constituencies. Both the INDIA bloc and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have announced their candidates for these crucial seats.

The AJSU party, aligned with the BJP-led NDA, has nominated its incumbent MP Chandra Prakash Chaudhary for Giridih. The BJP has put forward Dulu Mahto, Baghmara MLA for Dhanbad; Sanjay Seth, the current MP for Ranchi; and Bidyut Baran Mahto, the sitting MP for Jamshedpur. Representing the INDIA bloc, JMM has selected Mathura Mahto from Giridih and Samir Kumar Mohanty from Jamshedpur. The Congress has chosen Anupama Singh from Dhanbad and Yashaswini Sahay from Ranchi.

As the nomination withdrawal deadline passed on Monday, a total of 45 candidates are confirmed to contest in the fourth phase on May 13 across Singhbhum, Khunti, Lohardaga, and Palamu constituencies. The distribution includes 14 candidates from Singhbhum, seven from Khunti, 15 from Lohardaga, and nine from Palamu.

In a related development, Mahesh Kumar of the Right to Recall Party filed his nomination for the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat immediately after the Election Commission's announcement. Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal highlighted that over 18 lakh electors in Jamshedpur are poised to vote at 1,132 polling stations. This electorate includes 9,27,981 women, 32,000 first-time voters, and 132 transgender individuals.

To accommodate voters during the state's prevailing heatwave conditions, authorities plan to provide essential amenities such as shaded areas, ample drinking water, and primary healthcare facilities at polling centers. Additionally, to ensure a smooth election process devoid of disruptions, a comprehensive security arrangement involving 230 sector officers along with flying squad teams and static surveillance teams will be deployed throughout the region.
