Jharkhand Election 2024: Amit Shah Vows BJP Will Expel 'Infiltrators' In Jharkhand, Announces Land Law
In a bold statement ahead of Jharkhand's upcoming assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah vowed that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wins the state election, the party will take decisive steps to address the issue of "infiltrators."
Shah promised to establish a committee aimed at identifying and expelling "infiltrators" from the state, particularly focusing on those marrying tribal women to acquire land.

Speaking at a rally in Seraikela, Shah outlined the BJP's plan to introduce a new law that would prevent the transfer of land to individuals accused of being "infiltrators" through marriage to tribal women. The law is designed to safeguard the rights of the indigenous tribal population of Jharkhand, who, according to Shah, are losing their land to external forces.
"Tribal population is declining in Jharkhand, and infiltrators are grabbing land by marrying our daughters. We will bring legislation to prevent the transfer of land to infiltrators if they marry tribal women. We will also form a committee to identify these infiltrators and drive them out, reclaiming the land that has been taken," said Shah.
Additionally, Shah referenced the resignation of former Chief Minister Champai Soren, claiming that Soren stepped down due to his stance on the issue of infiltration.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, another prominent BJP leader, criticized the current Jharkhand government, accusing it of turning the state into a "Dharmashala" for Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators. Adityanath added that under the leadership of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition, the state's natural resources had been exploited.
"The BJP is the only party that can ensure the security and pride of the country, empower women, and provide employment to youth," Adityanath asserted while addressing rallies in Garhwa and Palamu districts.
The BJP has made "Love Jihad" another focal point of its campaign, with Adityanath claiming that the safety of Jharkhand's daughters is at risk due to interfaith marriages.
With the assembly elections scheduled for November 13 and 20, and results set to be announced on November 23, the political landscape in Jharkhand is heating up. Both national and regional issues, including migration, land rights, and governance, are set to be key factors in the upcoming polls.
The BJP's strong rhetoric and promises regarding the protection of tribal interests and the tackling of "infiltration" have sparked considerable debate and will be closely watched in the lead-up to the elections.
