JEE Main Session 2 Sparks Row Over Errors In Response Sheets, Answer Keys; Furious Parents, Students React

The second session of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main, held this month, has come under scrutiny after students, parents, and coaching centres raised concerns about major errors in the exam papers.

Following the release of the answer keys, students took to the social media platform X to express their dissatisfaction.

According to students, the JEE Main response sheet did not align with the questions they actually attempted. The exam was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 2, 3, 4, 7, and 9.

The NTA, which oversees the critical engineering exam, has yet to address these allegations.

Students have claimed that the response sheet provided by the NTA does not accurately reflect the number of questions they attempted.

"Tragedy of errors-JEE Main response sheet is different from what students actually filled in many cases + lots of answers given by NTA," posted one student.

Another user highlighted the glitches in the JEE Main Session 2 paper and criticised the NTA for causing unnecessary stress for the students.

Many parents, calling it "playing with the future of children," have emphasised the mismatch between the response sheet and the actual exam paper.

"Indeed, my daughter attempted 71 questions. During submission, it showed 71 questions attempted, and now in the response sheet, it is showing ALL questions as unanswered! Shocking! NTA is playing with the future of children. No response on email," said one parent.

Another parent remarked, "My daughter has attempted 50 questions, but why is it showing 48? So many questions are showing as incorrectly attempted. We will email NTA about this blunder. I am very worried for her."

According to a report in The Times of India, students and parents have identified approximately nine factual errors in the NTA's answer key. Of these errors, four are in Physics, three in Chemistry, and two in Mathematics.

The report quoted the director of a coaching institute, who stated that objections had been submitted with evidence, urging the NTA to either award bonus marks or discard the flawed questions.
