Jayalalithaa lauds Narendra Modi's investor-friendly initiatives

Chennai, Sep 9: Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa today credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with spearheading investor-friendly initiatives, saying it will "enthuse" businesses planning to invest in states.

"The Honourable Prime Minister has spearheaded many recent initiatives to create a more investor friendly climate and encourage more Foreign Direct Investment," she said.

In her inaugural address at the two-day Global Investors' Meet here, she said that Modi's efforts "will also enthuse investors planning to invest in the states."

The Chief Minister urged Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, who was present on the occasion, to expedite clearances at the central level for the investments proposed in the Meet.
