Jayalalithaa case: A R Rahman performed free of cost at foster son's wedding

Chennai, Oct 5: In the former Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalithaa's disproportionate assets case, it has been reported that the music legend A R Rahman had performed free of cost at foster son (later disowned) , V Sudhakaran's wedding.

According to a TOI report, Rahman had accepted wedding invitation accompanied by silver and silk.

Besides, Rahman, other VIP names that whose statements were recorded in Jayalalithaa's DA case were late U Srinivas, mandolin maestro and music director Gangai Amaran.

The report said that in 1994, Amaran 'sold' his 22-acre farmhouse at Payyanur to Sasikala, who told him "Amma likes your farmhouse".

Jayalaithaa's arrest last Saturday led to sporadic violence in Tamil Nadu, with reports of 16 people dead.

On Sunday, O PanneerSelvam, a loyalist of Jayalalithaa, was sworn in as Tamil Nadu chief minister.
