The BJP has called Jaya Bachchan's behaviour in Parliament "shameful."
New Delhi, Feb 12: Actress-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan has stoked a controversy after a video surfaced online in which she is seen showing a finger at Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Ajay Sehrawat, the spokesperson of Delhi BJP, shared the clip on Twitter and wrote, "Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan's behavior is shameful."

Information and broadcasting ministry advisor Kanchan Gupta recalled an earlier instance when she made harsh comment. "Amitabh Bachchan rushed to apologise and issues a hand-wringing statement that ended with "वो राजा हैं, हम रंक हैं।" (They are rulers, we are commoners.)," he tweeted.
The incident occurred on February 9, but the clip has gone viral on Sunday.
On February 9, Jaya had extended support to Congress MP Rajani Patil, who was suspended for the rest of the ongoing Budget session for creating a ruckus in Parliament over Adani scam.
"I think it was done in a very humiliating manner. Shouldn't have happened. If they feel something wrong was done, they should've sent it to Committee. Don't know if they sent it.She wasn't given a chance to clarify," SP MP Jaya Bachchan has aid on suspension of Rajani Patil.
Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan, who is known for such outbursts in public, has been slammed by netizens on social media sites.
"Frustrated old hag is what she is! I never liked her. Her acting skills were nothing great. She had good luck. #JayaBachchan, [sic]" a user tweeted.
"That is Jaya Bachchan ! Who has least behavioural skill. Mohua still leads these uneducated bimbos, [sic]" a user wrote. "Jaya Bachchan again showing her arrogance & crossing all maryada ki Rekha in Parliament 🤦♀️ #JayaBachchan, [sic]" another user.
"A classless, rude MP Jaya Bachchan. No matter how big a star Amitabh Bachchan is, I still feel bad for him," a third user stated. "Does this behavior of Rajya Sabha MP #JayaBachchan come under the category of feminism or not?" fourth netizen said.
Jaya Bachchan is a popular yesteryear actress and wife of Bollywood's megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Having worked in successful movies like 'Uphaar', 'Koshish' and 'Kora Kagaz', 'Zanjeer', 'Abhimaan', 'Chupke Chupke' and 'Sholay', she is a member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from the Samajwadi Party, serving four terms since 2004.
