Jay Pawar Demands Comprehensive Investigation into Baramati Plane Crash and Possible Lapses

Jay Pawar has called for a detailed investigation into the Baramati plane crash that resulted in the death of his father, Ajit Pawar. He emphasised the need for transparency and accountability regarding potential lapses by VSR Ventures, the aviation company involved.

Jay Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, has called for a thorough investigation into the plane crash that claimed his father's life. He emphasised that the aircraft's black box is not easily destroyed and demanded transparency in uncovering the truth behind the incident. The crash occurred on January 28 near Baramati airstrip, involving a Learjet 45XR operated by VSR Ventures Private Limited.

In a social media post, Jay Pawar urged for a ban on VSR Ventures, the aviation company responsible for the ill-fated flight. He stressed the need for an impartial and detailed investigation into potential lapses and irregularities by the firm. "The people of Maharashtra have the right to know the transparent and whole truth of the crash," he stated.

Investigation Demands and Concerns

The call for a probe follows a meeting between Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, NCP leaders, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. They requested a CBI investigation into the crash. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has sought special assistance to retrieve data from the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of the crashed Learjet 45.

NCP SP MLA Rohit Pawar also raised concerns about possible sabotage in the crash that killed his uncle Ajit Pawar. He demanded a comprehensive investigation by multiple expert agencies. During a press conference last week, Rohit questioned Capt Sumit Kapoor's track record, who piloted the aircraft on January 28. Kapoor had previously faced suspension for alcohol consumption.

Technical Support and Data Retrieval

The AAIB is working to recover data from the CVR of the Learjet 45 involved in the fatal accident. This step is crucial for understanding what transpired during the flight. The agency has requested specialised support to ensure accurate data retrieval, which could provide insights into the crash's cause.

Jay Pawar's demand for an investigation highlights concerns over aviation safety and accountability. The tragic loss of Ajit Pawar and four others has prompted calls for stringent scrutiny of aviation practices in Maharashtra.
