Jagdeep Dhankhar To Vacate VP Enclave Soon After Resignation, Declines Meetings With Opposition Leaders
Jagdeep Dhankhar, who resigned from the post of Vice President on Monday citing health concerns, is expected to vacate the Vice President Enclave soon, according to a report by India Today. Following his surprise resignation, Dhankhar also declined meeting requests from several opposition leaders.
According to sources cited in the report, Dhankhar began packing up on Monday night after submitting his resignation letter to President Droupadi Murmu. The President officially accepted his resignation on Tuesday.

Refused Opposition Leaders' Meeting Requests
The report further states that prominent opposition leaders-including Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Sanjay Raut and NCP (SP)'s Sharad Pawar-had sought meetings with Dhankhar after his resignation. However, they were unable to get an appointment with the former Vice President.
Dhankhar had moved into the newly-constructed Vice President Enclave on Church Road, near the Parliament House Complex, in April last year. The residence, part of the Central Vista redevelopment project, served as both his official residence and office.
Despite having a term that extended until 2027, Dhankhar will now vacate the Vice President's residence after staying there for approximately 15 months. His unexpected resignation has sparked speculation in both government and opposition circles over whether health was the sole reason for his departure.
A senior official from the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry confirmed that Dhankhar will be allotted a new residence. "He will be offered a Type VIII bungalow in Lutyens' Delhi or another suitable location," the official said. Type VIII bungalows are typically reserved for senior Union Ministers or presidents of national political parties.
