Jagan Reddy Slams Naidu Over Tirupati Laddu Scandal, Urges PM Modi To Take Action
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing his successor N. Chandrababu Naidu of spreading false allegations regarding the use of adulterated ghee in the sacred Tirupati laddus.
In his letter, Jagan Reddy condemned Naidu for creating a political controversy by falsely claiming that animal fats were used in place of pure ghee for the preparation of the revered laddus at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.

He described Naidu's actions as politically motivated, intended to distract from his government's alleged failures. The controversy began when Naidu, during a political gathering, claimed that ghee used in the preparation of the temple's sacred laddus had been adulterated with animal fats, including beef tallow and fish oil. Naidu cited a report from the National Dairy Development Board's (NDDB) CALF laboratory in Gujarat, which he claimed supported his allegations. These claims caused widespread outrage among devotees.
Reddy, however, clarified that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) had rejected the ghee in question after it failed quality tests and assured that no adulterated materials were ever used in the temple's offerings. He criticized Naidu for using an inconclusive report to defame the temple and its traditions, adding that Naidu's accusations were damaging to the global reputation of the temple.
Reddy urged Prime Minister Modi to intervene and reprimand Naidu for his baseless allegations, stressing that such false claims could harm the faith of millions of devotees. He warned that the controversy could tarnish the sanctity of the temple and called for swift action to restore the trust of devotees worldwide.
