J&K: Militants attack police party in Nougam, injures CRPF

Traffic was briefly suspended on the Parimpora-Pantha Chowk bypass road following the attack

A CRPF personnel was injured when two bike-borne militants attacked party of CRPF & J&K Police near Nowgam Bypass on Saturday.

"Militants fired upon a bunker vehicle of Police at Nougam at 8.45 pm, resulting in injuries to a CRPF head constable who has been shifted to Army hospital for treatment," a police official said.

He said the firing caused panic among the residents of Nowgam and adjoining areas as passers by at the busy city intersection ran towards safety.

Traffic was briefly suspended on the Parimpora-Pantha Chowk bypass road following the attack, he added.
