The meeting, chaired by the Director General of Police (DGP), focused on evaluating the current security landscape and discussing ways to enhance the security framework. Various zonal inspector generals and heads of different wings provided updates on the security situation in the Union Territory.

Focus on Social Media Monitoring

Prabhat emphasised the need for district heads to monitor social media platforms closely. This is crucial to prevent misinformation that could compromise public safety and order. The DGP stressed the importance of this measure during discussions about recent security challenges and strategies.

The police spokesman highlighted that recent developments in anti-terrorist operations were also discussed. Actions taken in response to these developments were reviewed, along with ongoing security issues and challenges faced by the region.

Enhancing Security Measures

The DGP instructed officers to increase surveillance on anti-national elements. He urged them to strengthen area domination efforts within their jurisdictions. Emphasis was placed on enhancing security around vulnerable targets and ensuring comprehensive security measures are in place.

Addressing rising crime rates in certain areas, Prabhat directed district heads to boost community policing initiatives. Improving public outreach programmes was also highlighted as a key strategy to tackle general crime effectively.
