J&K BJP leaders meet PM Modi; no consensus with allies on the issue of Hindu CM
These leaders also met in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Ram Madhav and BJP organising secretary Ram Lal.
New Delhi, July 11: Efforts to form the government in Jammu and Kashmir by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is still continuing as BJP president of Jammu and Kashmir Ravinder Raina and former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh reached New Delhi and had a closed-door meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening. These leaders also met in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Ram Madhav and BJP organising secretary Ram Lal.

Hectic parlays is on in the political corridors of the state. President of People's Party Sajjad Lone too visited Delhi recently and met some senior BJP leaders including the Prime Minister. Some PDP MLAs too accompanied Lone during his Delhi visit. This is to remind that Sajjad Lone was the minister from the BJP quota in the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir led by Mehbooba Mufti.
Union Home minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Adviser visited Jammu and Kashmir on July 4. However, the reason sighted for this visit was to assess security preparation in the state in view of Amarnath Yatra. But later on, the home minister said that the government wanted to conduct panchayat elections in the state. Last panchayat elections took place in 2011while municipal committee elections took place in 2005.
Sources said that a big group of PDP is ready to split and join the BJP government in the state. Sources said that at the moment there are five rebels but they are supported by 14 other MLAs. PDP MLAs Imraz Raza Ansari, Abid Ansari, Mohammad Abbas Wani and Javed Beg have openly rebelled against Mehbooba Mufti and 14 others are also not happy with the party chief. Patan MLA Imran Hasan Ansari is uniting the rebellious MLAs to make way for the BJP to go smooth in the state. Ansari is close add of Sajjad lone and former finance minister Hasib Drabu. He played an important role in the formation of PDP-BJP government with the help of Ram Madhav. Once again the trio Sajjad-Ansari-Drabu will play important role in the formation of government.
The BJP is looking for a Hindu CM in the state for which the name of a central minister in the Modi government is doing rounds but PDP MLAs are not ready on the name of a Hindu chief minister. They are pushing the name of Lone for the post of the CM. The BJP has offered him the post of deputy CM but Lone is not ready for it. He knows that deputy CM does not have any power and at present, the key to the formation of the government is with him. Sources informed that rebels of the PDP will not form the new party rather they will join Lone's People's Party. Rebels of PDP are in favour of formation of the government.
On being asked about the state, the BJP said that its utmost priority is to complete Amarnath Yatra with foolproof security measures. The Army is constantly involved in terrorist operation. So the strategy of the government is to tell people that the group BJP is supporting is for the development of the state and not for the independent of Kashmir.
For the formation of the government support of 44 MLAs is necessary. In the state Assembly, PDP has 28 MLAs, the BJP 25 MLAs, NC 15 and the Congress 12. The BJP needs the support of 19 MLAs to form the government. The BJP is looking at rebels of the PDP and National Conference. The state has one CPM MLA, one PDF and three independent MLAs.
