It Raises Doubts: MP Minister On Indian Woman Anju Getting Gifts In Pakistan For Embracing Islam
Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Monday said Indian woman Anju, who went to Pakistan to meet her Facebook friend before she allegedly converted to Islam and married him, getting gifts from Pakistanis raise doubts about the "international conspiracy angle."
Speaking to the media, he said, "The fact that Anju is being welcomed in Pakistan and getting gifts is raising several doubts. That's why I have directed the special branch of police to examine the case minutely, whether it is an international conspiracy or not?"

It comes after reports claimed that she received some money and a piece of land as gifts for embracing Islam.
Recently, Anju went to meet the man with whom she has been in touch since 2019. The mother of two allegedly went without informing her husband and father.
As she went to Pakistan, it was reported that she converted to Islam, changed her name to Fatima and then married in a court. On Saturday, Mohsin Khan Abbasi, the chief executive officer of a real estate company based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, visited Anju and Nasrullah at their residence in the Upper Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He presented Anju a cheque, the amount of which was not known, and a land document in the presence of her husband to make her feel at home in Pakistan, according to a report in PTI.
Responding to the reports of her visit to Pakistan, Anju's father Thomas last week said, "The way she ran away leaving her two children and husband behind...she did not even think of her children. If she wanted to do this, she should have divorced her husband first. She is no more (alive) for us."
However, her Indian husband said that they are not divorced yet and hence she cannot marry the man from across the border.
"Anju has said she submitted divorce papers in Delhi three years ago but I have not received any summons or notice from the court yet. On papers, she is still my wife. She cannot marry anyone else. The government should get the matter investigated," Anju's husband Arvind Kumar told reporters in Alwar.
Anju has reportedly got a 30-day visa and she will be back in the country on August 30.
