I-T investigative team to work under EC

, Mar 5: With the Election Commission announcing dates for the Lok Sabha

, the investigative department of the Income Tax will soon start working under the election regulator, an official said here today.

"We have a full fledged team of investigators and it will now work under instructions of the Election Commission," chief commissioner of Income Tax, Kolkata-I, G N Pande said, while speaking during an interactive session with MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The I-T investigative department helps the EC in tracking the expenses and money spent by candidates during the elections.
