ISRO Scientists Deserve Appreciation: Pakistan On India's Chandrayaan-3 Success

Pakistan on Friday said that the successful landing of India's Chandrayaan-3 as a "great scientific achievement".

"I can only say that it is a great scientific achievement, for which ISRO scientists deserve appreciation," foreign office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said at a weekly news briefing after being asked to comment on the landmark feat by India.

Amid the existing strained relationship between the two nations, Pakistan's open recognition of India's scientific accomplishments is considered uncommon. Even former Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry had previously lauded India for this achievement.

Also, there were several clips of Pakistani people extending their congratulations to India for this remarkable feat. Notably, a video clip of a Pakistani man's response to India's successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 had gone viral, two days ago.

In the video, a citizen journalist asks the Pakistani youngster about the success of Chandrayaan-3 for which the citizen states that people from his country are already living on the moon.

"Wo to paise laga ke jaa rahe hain na, hum to already chaand pe reh rahe hain aapko nahi pata tha," the man said in the clip.

In a giant leap for its space programme, India's Moon mission Chandrayaan-3 touched down on the lunar south pole at 6.04 pm on Wednesday, propelling the country to an exclusive club of four and making it the first nation to land on the uncharted surface.

It came days after Russia's unmanned Luna-25 spacecraft spun out of control and crashed into the Moon.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that India has shown its capability to the world by unfurling the tricolour on the Moon, and asserted that its science and technology and innovation are creating a wave globally. Addressing the Indian diaspora in the capital of Greece, he also cited several development feats achieved by his government in the last nine years and emphasised that never before has so much investment been made in infrastructure development.
