Israeli envoy, Nitish discuss upcoming agricultural research centres in Bihar

Patna, Sep 14: With two agricultural research centres being built in Bihar by Israel, the Jewish nation's Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon on Thursday met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna.
Carmon and Nitish discussed two agricultural research centres being built by Israel in Nalanda and Vaishali.
The Israeli Ambassador met Kumar at his 1, Anne Marg residence in Patna, an official statement said.
Carmon told Kumar about his country extending help to India in building agricultural research centres.
Two such "centre of excellence" are coming up in Bihar. While one would come up at Nalanda on research in vegetables the second such centre would be in Vaishali related to research in the field of mango and litchis.
The farmers would be trained in the newer technology in the farm sector at these centres. The Israeli Ambassdor evinced interest in extending assistance to Bihar in the field of new technology, the statement said. Principal Secretary Chanchal Kumar and Secretary in the CMO Atish Chandra were present on the occasion.
