ISIS operative from Bengaluru convicted by NIA court
Accused Abid Khan was found to be a member of a newly formed organisation, "Junood-Ul-Khilafa-Fil-Hind" which was working to further the ideology of the ISIS.
The NIA's special court held one Abid Khan guilty in a case relating to the Islamic State. The quantum of the sentence will be pronounced on July 21.

Abid Khan, 23 years, a resident of Bengaluru was accused of being associated with four persons belonging to the ISIS. He is said to have converted to Christianity to avoid arrest. The NIA says that he went to Sri Lanka for a month in March 2016. Upon his return he took shelter in a Church at Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. During this period he remained in contact with his handlers through various social media platforms.
