Is Arvind Kejriwal Eyeing Rajya Sabha Seat? AAP Responds
After losing the New Delhi seat in the recently concluded assembly polls, AAP Convenor is eyeing Rajya Sabha, according to a report in The New Indian Express.
Arora Likely To Make Way For Kejriwal In Upper House
Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora might vacate his seats for Kejriwal, the report said. The AAP has fielded Arora for the upcoming bypoll in the Ludhiana (West) Assembly seat.

The Ludhiana West seat fell vacant following the death of AAP MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi last month. Responding to the party's decision, Arora said he was grateful to the party leadership for fielding him. "Humbled and grateful to the leadership AAP for reposing faith in me to contest the Ludhiana West bye-elections. As someone deeply connected to my hometown, I look forward to serving my people with dedication and sincerity," Arora said in a post on X.
If Arora emerges victorious, he might join Bhagwant Mann cabinet while Kejriwal will replace him in the Rajya Sabha. The final call on the Rajya Sabha will be taken once the election is over.
The report claims that other leaders have also offered to resign. Currently, the party has 10 members in the Upper House.
In the recently concluded Delhi Assembly polls, the AAP was reduced to 22 seats.
Meanwhile, Punjab Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa has claimed that Kejriwal will enter Rajya Sabha. He said, "First, Kejriwal wanted to come through Gurpreet's (deceased AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi) seat. But then he felt that this would have a massive reaction in Punjab and Punjabis wouldn't stand outsiders. So, he took a step back. Most probably, there can be some truth to the information regarding Arora sahab (speculations around AAP's Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora contesting Ludhiana West Assembly bypoll),"
AAP Responds
However, the AAP has denied the reports which claimed that the former Delhi CM might take the Rajya Sabha route to stay politically relevant, The Times of India reported citing sources.
