Is Akhilesh Modi's biggest opponent? UP CM reveals his prime ministerial dream

Recently, the incumbent CM of poll-bound UP Akhilesh Yadav talked about his political goals.

Lucknow, Feb 17: Yes, it's a dream job for every politician--to become country's Prime Minister. Isn't it? So, if chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav shares the same dream, we should not be surprised. But, like other politicos, he too is reluctant to reveal his prime ministerial ambition.

In recent times, Akhilesh has been hogging the limelight, as he emerged as the main power centre in the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh showed his 'political skills' to the world as he outsmarted his own father Mulayam Singh Yadav after he won the internal battle that ensued between him and the SP patriarch.

In a recent interview, Akhilesh tried to downplay the question regarding his desire to become the PM of the country one day.

"I haven't thought of that. I do dream but not that big. I rather want to complete my work in UP. Metro, extension of expressway, skill centres, 24-hour power in villages etc. I am not thinking of the Centre. I can stay longer in Lucknow. The stay at Centre is usually much shorter. People remain happy till they are in the state," told DNA.

From his reaction, we can say that Akhilesh did not say a 'no' to the question, even if he did not answer in the affirmative.

Akhilesh also spoke about the SP's alliance with the Congress.

"The alliance was formed to remove all the confusion in people's mind. We will win the largest number of seats. Going solo would have helped us win 250 seats, now we are hoping for 300 . The tie-up will ensure our victory. It will give a strong message to entire country," he told DNA.
