IPS officer cheats in UPSC main exam, gets arrested
He had been selected for the IPS in 2014 and was undergoing training at the Nanguneri subdivision of Tirunelveli.
An IPS trainee who took the civil services exam to join IAS was caught cheating.Shabir Karim, an IPS officer on probation was allegedly talking to his wife using a bluetooth device during the exam.

The police alleged that he was taking answers from his wife who was in Hyderabad. Both are now in police custody. The police say that he was writing the exam to be an IAS officer.
He had been selected for the IPS in 2014 and was undergoing training at the Nanguneri subdivision of Tirunelveli. He has been charged for cheating under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code.
The police say his wife, a visiting faculty at an IAS coaching centre was helping him. He would send pictures of the question paper via WhasApp and she would call him on the phone with the answers. A mobile phone, a bluetooth device, and wireless earplug speakers were seized from Karim, Soon after the candidates assembled in the hall at the Presidency Girls' Higher Secondary School, Egmore, a special team of the Chennai Police searched each candidate. Karim was found to be in possession of the electronic devices, concealed in the folds of his clothes.
