Interstate drug supplier arrested after Shimla chitta and ice seizure, police say

Shimla Police arrested an interstate drug supplier and two alleged accomplices after raids linked to the seizure of chitta adulterated heroin, ice crystal meth, and cash. Police said the arrests followed intelligence inputs from the Dhalli area and that a case was filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Police said three people, including an interstate drug supplier, were arrested after seizures in Punjab and Shimla. The recoveries included 196 grams of chitta adulterated heroin and 47 grams of ice crystal meth. Police also seized Rs 60,400 in cash. The arrests followed a raid and a follow-up operation across state lines.

The accused were identified as Samar Singh, alias Tiger 32, a supplier from Ferozepur now living in Kharar, Punjab. Police also named Avantika Negi, 19, from Dhalli, Shimla, and Pradyuman, 20, from Taknawal village. Taknawal falls in the Theog subdivision of Shimla district, police said.

NDPS Act case in Shimla after chitta and crystal meth seizure

During a press conference, Shimlas Additional Superintendent of Police ASP Abhishek Dhiman stated that the arrests were made on May 29. ASP Abhishek Dhiman said police had inputs about drug peddlers in the Dhalli area. After getting the information, a team moved quickly and planned a raid, police said.

Police raided a house in Dhalli and found Avantika Negi and Pradyuman inside, police said. The team recovered about 65 grams of chitta and 20 grams of crystal meth. Both were arrested at the spot, and the drugs were seized. Police registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances NDPS Act, 1985.

Punjab arrest linked to Shimla chitta and crystal meth investigation

ASP Abhishek Dhiman said the probe later pointed to a wider supply chain. Investigators learnt that Samar Singh had supplied the drugs to the two accused. Police then formed another team and sent it to Punjab. The goal was to trace the source and recover more contraband, police said.

In Punjab, police arrested Samar Singh and recovered 131 grams of chitta and 27 grams of crystal meth, police said. The team also seized Rs 60,400 in cash. Police said Samar Singh was brought to Shimla after the arrest. Further investigation in the case is continuing, police said.
