Indrani said Sheena didn't want to be contacted, says witness

Mumbai, Dec 17: After Sheena Bora went missing in April 2012, her mother Indrani Mukerjea allegedly told her employers that Sheena didn't want to be contacted because of some problem and they should respect her feelings.

Shubhodoy Mukherjee, the HR head of Mumbai Metro where Sheena worked, has said in his statement recorded before the magistrate as a witness that Sheena left the office early on April 24, 2012, and thereafter she could never be contacted.

Sheena didn't want to be contacted

Mukherjee sent an office boy to her house. Sheena's boyfriend Rahul, who was in the house, told him that even he was unaware of her whereabouts. Rahul -- son of media baron Peter Mukerjea -- then told Mukherjee that "Indrani must have said something to her against Rahul, that's why she might have not come back."

Mukherjee later got a call from Indrani. "When I said that Rahul told me you are the mother of Sheena, Indrani said that's not correct and she was the sister of Sheena," he says.

When Mukherjee asked why Sheena had disappeared without informing the office, "Indrani replied please respect Sheena's feeling and she is having some problem for which she does not want to be contacted by anyone".

Indrani also told him that Sheena would be sending her resignation though a courier, which was later accepted. Madhukar Kilje, the manager of the building in Worli where Peter Mukerjea lived, has said in his statement that between April 23 and April 25, 2012, Indrani and her driver Shyamvar Rai (Indrani's co-accused in Sheena murder case) left the house and returned many times.
