Indrani, Peter Mukerjea arrested but Sheena Bora murder still remains a mystery; Here's why

Mumbai, Dec 7: The investigating agency -- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already submitted its 1000-page chargesheet in connection with Sheena Bora murder case. However, it seems that the mystery over the sensational case is yet to be solved.

Following the chargesheet, CBI officers shocked and surprised everyone after arresting Peter Mukerjea who was charged as one of the main accused in the case.

All four accused -- Peter along Indrani Mukerjea, Sanjeev Khana and driver Shyam Rai have been arrested and were sent to judicial custody. But the CBI officers have not discover the real motive behind the murder.

However, earlier it was claimed that a huge money trail might be the main and sole reason which forced the accused to kill 23-year-old Sheena. The CBI, however, told a Mumbai court that there is obviously much more in the case.

The investigating officers claimed that they have been gathering all evidences against the Mukerjeas and the revelations are "shocking".

During a hearing in a special court in Mumbai, CBI told that the Mukerjeas earned a huge amount of money (at least Rs 900 crore) after selling INX Media in 2009.

The Mukerjeas allegedly made several illegal transactions and the money was parked through shell companies abroad, including in accounts opened for Sheena Bora in HSBC, Singapore, CBI told in court.

Meanwhile, a Mumbai Police officer, who is following the case closely, was quoted as saying, "Why would he (Sanjeev Khanna) get involved? The explanation that he willingly joined the plot so that his daughter Vidhie's interests would be served and she would become the rightful heir to Peter's wealth is too simplistic. It may be recalled that Sanjeev was dumped by Indrani and their daughter was legally adopted by Peter. Why would Sanjeev agree to be part of the murder unless there were big bucks involved and he was promised a share?"

Sheena Bora Murder Case:

Sheena was Indrani's daughter from her first marriage with Siddharth Das. She ended her marriage with Siddharth and got married to Sanjeev Khanna and the couple has a daughter Vidhie.

Indrani later divorced Sanjeev Khanna and tied nuptial knots with former media baron Peter Mukerjea. While getting married to Mr Mukerjea, Indrani had introduced Sheena as her sister.

After a few years, another shocking news surfaced when Indrani got to know that Sheena fell in love with Peter's son Rahul.

Indrani was furious to know that Sheena and Rahul decided to get married. She allegedly made a murder plot to kill Sheena.

Indrani convinced Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai and the trio allegedly killed Sheena and dumped her body in a jungle near Mumbai.
