Indigo Website, APP Down: Wednesday Woes For Air Passengers

IndiGo's website and mobile app are down on Wednesday due to a scheduled system upgrade by the airline.

"We're on flight mode, our systems are undergoing an upgrade, impacting the website, mobile app and contact centre," the airline said in a statement.

Indigo said that Digi Yatra and self-baggage drop facilities will be unavailable during this period."While we are ensuring uninterrupted flight operations at all our airports, self-baggage drop and Digi Yatra will be unavailable. Passengers travelling during this period are requested to download/print the boarding pass emailed to them." the message read.

In the last few days, Indigo has been hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons. In one occurrence, fog-related flight delays at Delhi airport resulted in a passenger assaulting an IndiGo flight's captain during the announcement of the delay.

Subsequently, another incident involving IndiGo unfolded when passengers of a diverted Delhi-bound flight were observed sitting and eating on the tarmac at Mumbai airport, resembling a 'langar' (community kitchen). On Tuesday, the Center issued show-cause notices to both IndiGo and Mumbai Airport regarding the tarmac incident.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actress Richa has slammed the airline over the recent flight delays. On X, she wrote, "She began by writing, "On my 3rd flight in 3 days... day 1, @IndiGo6E delayed by over 4 hours. Day 2, @IndiGo6E delayed by 4 hours. But the only direct flights on some routes are often Indigo. Day 3, international flight, no problem. On the 14th of Jan, there was an air show in Mumbai, because of which the runway was closed in the morning. And then fog/smog in North India - Delhi runway closed. Ripple effect? Flights delayed all over the country, staff overextended."

Responding to the assault incident involving the captain, she said, "I am surprised only one person got physically assaulted because tempers were running very high (I don't condone violence). Lesson: Monopoly - whether airlines, airport ownership or leadership - creates lack of accountability. Common citizens suffer, with no recourse. Till we don't recognise it, we will be at a disadvantage while paying through our noses. And if we don't wake up, we deserve it 💋haina ?"
