Indian Navy cadets awarded B Tech degrees
Pune-based Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) Vice-Chancellor Dr Surendra Pal gave away the degrees at the Convocation ceremony held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala.
Kozhikode, Nov 25 Cadets of 91st Indian Naval Academy Course were today awarded their B. Tech degrees on successful completion of the dual programme under which they study the engineering course simultaneously with the Navy training curriculum.

Pune-based Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) Vice-Chancellor Dr Surendra Pal gave away the degrees at the Convocation ceremony held at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala in neighbouring Kannur district.

Congratulating the cadets on their successful completion of their course and training, Pal asked them to develop the skill of "innovative thinking" and inculcate superior leadership qualities in the ever-changing socio political environment.
The event marked the culmination of a four-year training regimen, wherein the AICTE accredited B Tech degree is run simultaneously with a curriculum of Navy specific subjects and an outdoor training curriculum, an INA release said.

The graduating cadets acquired their B Tech degree in one of the three streams -- Applied Electronics and Communication Engineering (AEC), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME), under the aegis of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
The "Chief of the Naval Staff Rolling Trophy" was awarded to Flotilla Cadet Adjutant Anmol Bhatia adjudged best in AEC stream and to Academy Cadet Captain Shubham Kumar, adjudged best in ECE stream.
The trophy for ME stream was awarded to Divisional Cadet Captain Ankit Ojha. INA Commandant Vice Admiral S V Bhokare and Academy Principal Rear Admiral K S Venugopal were present on the occasion.
