Indian Air Force AFCAT 2026 Registration Begins For Aspiring Flying Officers And Ground Duty Roles

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has commenced the registration for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2026. Aspiring flying officers can apply on the official website, afcat.edcil.co.in, starting November 17, 2025. During their one-year training, flying cadets will receive a stipend of Rs. 56,100, while officers' salaries range from Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500.

Applications are open for Flying, Ground Duty (Technical), and Ground Duty (Non-Technical) branches. The IAF also invites applications under the Short Service Commission (SSC) scheme and a special entry scheme exclusively for flying posts. Successful candidates will train at the IAF's Dundigai centre in Hyderabad, beginning either late December 2026 or early January 2027.

The IAF offers NCC Special Entry for the Flying branch. This includes reserving 10 percent of seats from CDSE vacancies and another 10 percent from AFCAT vacancies. This initiative aims to encourage more participation from NCC cadets in the Air Force.
