India Will Secure Pakistan, Bangladesh Borders Completely In 2 Years, Says Amit Shah
Union Minister Amit Shah on Friday attended the 59th Raising Day parade for the Border Security Force (BSF). Shah extended his wishes to the BSF soldiers on the occasion and pledged to completely secure the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders in the next two years. Shah highlighted ongoing efforts to fortify the 60-km stretch along these borders.
In the past nine years, the Narendra Modi government has fenced Pakistan and Bangladesh borders, measuring 560 km.

"I firmly believe that a country cannot develop and prosper if its borders are not secure...the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has led the country to the moon with the Chandrayaan mission, G20 Summit and brought the economy from the 11th to the fifth spot, and this was all possible due to our forces deployed for securing the borders like the BSF," the Union Minister said.
"I believe that the border fence does not alone protect the country, it only helps render this task. The brave BSF jawan does this task," Amit Shah added.
Notably, India shares 2,290 km of International Border with Pakistan and 4,096 km long international boundary with Bangladesh. This includes long riverine, mountainous, and marshy areas. Fencing borders in such areas is not completely possible, hence the force uses drones cameras, and other gadgets to check infiltration.
Thumping the back of the BSF soldiers, Amit Shah said incidents of Naxal attacks have gone down. "The last strike against LWE by forces like the BSF, CRPF and ITBP is in the process. We are determined to end Naxalism in the country," he said.
