By Chennabasaveshwar

Hyderabad, July 31: Amidst the raging debate in Parliament over the Assam NRC final draft, a BJP MLA from Telangana has issued a controversial statement on the issue of Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants.

Raja Singh, BJP MLA from Goshamahal constituency, Telangana

Raja Singh, BJP MLA from Goshamahal constituency in Telangana, suggested killing Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants to make the country safer.

He said, "If these Rohingyas and Bangladeshi illegal immigrants do not leave India respectfully, then they should be shot and eliminated. Then only our country will be safe."

Earlier, MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju said, " India is probably the only country which has adopted such a soft approach to refugees. We also told Myanmar that we are ready to assist them in providing facilities to Rohingyas when they return"

"J&K has the highest Rohingya population, followed by Telangana. India has always welcomed outsiders. But that doesn't mean we don't keep a check. India is not a signatory to the UN Convention on Refugees, yet we accept thousands of them, " RIjiju said in reply to TMC MP Sugata Bose's adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha over NRC Assam draft which was released on Monday.
