India sees a dip in daily Covid-19 cases; 7,533 fresh cases in 24 hours

A total of 7,533 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in the last 24 hours, decreasing marginally from Thursday's case count of 9,355, stated a bulletin issued by the Union Health Ministry on Monday. Meanwhile the number of active cases dropped to 53,852, according to Union health ministry data.

The active cases now comprise 0.12 per cent of the total infections and the national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.69 per cent, the ministry said.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,43,47,024 and the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18 per cent.

According to the ministry's website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
