India Rejects Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif's Allegations Following Terror Attack in Islamabad

India has categorically rejected Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif's allegations linking a recent terror attack in Islamabad to New Delhi, labelling them as baseless. The Indian government emphasised that such claims are tactics to distract from internal issues within Pakistan.

India has firmly dismissed allegations made by Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, linking New Delhi to a terror attack in Islamabad. The accusations followed a suicide bombing that killed 12 people outside a court in the Pakistani capital. India described these claims as baseless and part of a predictable strategy by Pakistan's leadership to create false narratives.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that the international community is aware of the truth and will not be swayed by Pakistan's attempts to mislead. "India unequivocally rejects the baseless and unfounded allegations being made by an obviously delirious Pakistani leadership," Jaiswal said, responding to the accusations.

Pakistan's Internal Challenges

The Pakistani government, led by Sharif, faces criticism from opposition parties after introducing a constitutional amendment. This amendment aims to establish a new chief of defence forces position, sparking political controversy within the country. The move is seen as part of ongoing military-inspired constitutional changes and power struggles.

Jaiswal highlighted that Pakistan's accusations are an attempt to divert attention from its internal issues. He noted that these false narratives are used to distract the public from the political turmoil unfolding within Pakistan. "It is a predictable tactic by Pakistan to concoct false narratives against India," he added.

Details of the Islamabad Attack

Regarding the suicide attack in Islamabad, Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi provided details about the incident. He explained that the attacker intended to enter the court complex but detonated explosives near a police vehicle at the gate after failing to do so.

Prime Minister Sharif accused groups with alleged Indian support of involvement in the attack. However, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif suggested that the Afghan Taliban sent a message through this bombing, indicating complex regional dynamics at play.

The international community remains informed about these developments and is unlikely to be influenced by what India describes as Pakistan's desperate diversionary tactics. The situation highlights ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan amid internal challenges faced by the latter.
