Kumar's illicit affair: AAP comes in Vishwas' support; accuses BJP, media of defaming him
New Delhi, May 4: Dismissing the allegations against party leader Kumar Vishwas over having an affair with a party volunteer, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday termed it baseless and a media conspiracy.
The party has even called it a conspiracy by rival BJP to defame its leader.

Defending Kumar Vishwas, AAP leader Sanjay Singh told the media, "The issue has been played up as if Kumar Vishwas has illicit relations with the woman. The woman herself has named four people for maligning her image on social media."
"Stories are being planted (by media), wrong campaigning is being done, but such people have forgotten that they too have families," Kumar Vishwas told media persons, earlier in the day.

"This is only being done to bring us down, but I'll keep on fighting against such dirty politics, We are not going to be scared," added Vishwas.
The complainant has reportedly approached the Delhi Commission for Women against Kumar Vishwas. Meanwhile, the commission has summoned Vishwas over the same.
Allegations that Vishwas was allegedly having an illicit affair with a volunteer of the party were made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The commission has summoned Vishwas to seek his explanation on the issue.
The complainant Ajay Vohra had made the allegations while also stating that Kumar Vishwas' wife too was aware of the same.
Vishwas had however rejected the allegations and stated that this was an attempt to malign him. He had also accused Vohra of being planted by a rival political party and dared him to reveal his true identity.
