If PM Modi Can Have Biriyani, Why Not India Go To Pakistan For Champions Trophy? Tejashwi Yadav

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav expressed his support for India's participation in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, despite the Indian government's refusal to allow the BCCI to send the Men in Blue due to strained relations between the two nations.

Speaking to ANI, Tejashwi said that politics should not be involved in sports and questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's earlier visit to Pakistan.

If PM Modi Can Have Biriyani Why Not India Go To Pakistan For Champions Trophy Tejashwi Yadav

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav says, "Involving politics into sports is not a good thing. We should go, other teams should travel to India... Doesn't everyone participate in the Olympics?... Why shouldn't India go there (Pakistan)? What is objection? If the PM can go there to have Biryani - then it's good, if the India team travels - why this is not good?."

Last year, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) conducted the Asia Cup in a hybrid model. However, this time, it has firmly insisted that the entire Champions Trophy will held in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.

According to a report by The Indian Express, the ICC had recently proposed the PCB to conduct a hybrid model wherein India's three group matches, along with one semi-final and the final, played at a neutral venue. The UAE might become the neutral venue.

The ICC discussed two plans during the meeting. The first plan suggests that out of 15 matches, three of India's group matches, including the highly anticipated clash against Pakistan, as well as one semi-final and the final, will occur at a neutral location. The second plan indicates that if India fails to qualify from the group stage, both the semi-final and final will be held in Pakistan.

However, a vote will be conducted to determine the preferred model, and if the hybrid proposal receives majority support, it will be up to the PCB to accept or reject it.
