Found or not found - suicide note deepens IAS Officer DK Ravi's death mystery
Bengaluru, March 19: Days after his death, a newspaper on Thursday, March 19 reported that investigating officials found a 2-page suicide note at IAS officer DK Ravi's apartment at South Bengaluru.
The report, which contradicted to initial probe reports, deepened the mystery as many still believed that it was a murder and not a suicide case.
Bengaluru Police earlier had claimed that they did not find any suicide during multiple search at DK Ravi's official residence where he was found hanging from the ceiling fan on Monday, March 16.
Ravi's post-mortem report, however, confirmed that it was a suicide case. The report stated that it was death caused due to asphyxiation which is common in cases of suicide by hanging.
Karnataka Home Minister KJ George was quoted as saying, "The police have obtained evidence indicating that the suicide occurred due to personal reasons. Since this is an ongoing investigation we would not like to reveal further details."
However, Opposition parties, especially BJP and JDS, asked the state government to allow CBI to investigate the case. Ravi's parents also suspected some foul play.
Ravi's colleagues and other IAS officers too claimed that a person like Ravi cannot commit suicide. It was suspected that the Ravi had to pay the price for taking on powerful people.
