How did Mamata Banerjee escape an accident?

Banerjee suffered a minor head injury but escaped with it. Upon reaching Kolkata, it was stated that she was feeling cold; however, a hospital visit was refused. Quoted by news agency ANI, she mentioned, "A speeding vehicle suddenly came before my car, and I survived due to the application of hand brakes. Police will do their work. I will not go to the hospital. I am feeling cold, so I am going home."

To address an administrative event, Mamata Banerjee had been transported to the city by helicopter, but due to inclement weather, she had to return by road. While travelling, a car unexpectedly entered the chief minister's convoy, compelling the driver to apply brakes suddenly. As Banerjee customarily occupied the front passenger seat, she collided with the windshield of the vehicle due to the abrupt stop.

The police informed, "Shortly after leaving the venue, a car strayed into the convoy, and her driver had to apply the brakes abruptly. Since she always sits in the front seat, she was tossed forward, and her head hit the windshield." Fortunately, the injuries were not severe, and she continued the journey without stopping for medical attention, proceeding to Kolkata.

Medical treatment was later administered by doctors in Kolkata, where she was observed with a band-aid on her forehead. The accident incidentally occurred on the same day Mamata Banerjee declared that her Trinamool Congress would contest the assembly elections independently.
