Hyderabad: Railway vendor fined Rs 1 lakh for using toilet water to prepare tea
A Railway vendor was fined Rs 1 lakh after in a viral video he was seen bringing out tea/coffee cans from inside a train toilet on board Train 12759 Chennai Central-Hyderabad Charminar Express at Secunderabad station. The incident dates back to December 2017.

The video which was widely shared on various social media shows a vendor coming out of a train toilet with tea and coffee cans, indicating that water was being mixed in the cans inside the toilet.
Following the incident, an inquiry was conducted and on the basis of it, stringent action has been taken against the contractor, for the section between Secunderabad and Kazipet with whom the vendor was employed.
Meanwhile, Railway officials said they are carrying out checks at various levels to prevent of such incidents at any station under the zone.
The railway staff has also been instructed to keep tabs on toilets to ensure unauthorised hawkers or non-travelling passengers do not misuse the water.
