Hyderabad Crime: Auto Driver Rapes Woman On Knife-Point Near Masjid Banda

A 29-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an auto-rickshaw driver in Hyderabad. The incident occurred near a school close to Masjid Banda. The woman had just returned from Chennai and boarded the auto-rickshaw at Lingampally around 2:45 AM on October 15.

The victim had travelled from Chennai by bus, which arrived in Hyderabad after midnight. Upon reaching the city, she took an auto-rickshaw for further travel. However, the driver diverted her to a secluded area near Masjid Banda and assaulted her.

Details of the Incident

During the attack, the woman cried out for help and attempted to resist. The driver also tried to strangle her but fled when he noticed someone passing by. He escaped with her handbag, which contained cash and identification documents.

The auto-rickshaw involved in this crime did not have a number plate, complicating efforts to trace it. The Station House Officer of Gachibowli police station confirmed that the suspect is still at large.
