Hyderabad, brace for hotter days. Heatwave likely in some parts

The already blazing sun is likely to get hotter in the days to come in Hyderabad according to Skymet weather. With mercury levels rising daily life has taken a hit in the city but the heat is only predicted to rise. Lack of weather system over the region, the heat has seen a significant rise, said a Skymet report.

Hyderabad, brace for hotter days. Heatwave likely in some parts

As on 10.30 AM on Wednesday, a temperature of 36 degrees was recorded in Hyderabad which showed a rising trend. The city at large has been boiling at 40 degrees celsius on most days, at least 2 degrees more than normal levels. It is expected that by the end of the day on Wednesday, the maximum temperature will reach 42 degrees.

While heatwave-like condition persists over the region, heatwave cannot be declared, said Skymet. Heatwave over a particular area is declared when the maximum temperature is more than 40 degrees and it is above 4-5 degrees above the normal levels.

Showers make no impact

Recent showers that the city witnessed on April 5 did nothing to bring the temperature down. On the contrary, the temperature has only risen in the region. The temperature over neighbouring regions of the city, it is predicted, may reach heatwave levels. The temperatures around Hyderabad has seen a sharp rise leading to a heatwave in pockets.
