Hyderabad: 4-year-old girl's head gets stuck in school lift, dies
Hyderabad, Nov 17: A school in Hyderabad witnessed a tragic incident on Tuesday, Nov 17. A four-year-old girl child died after her head got stuck in an elevator.
The school is situated in Dilsukh Nagar area in the city.
According to reports, Syeda Xinab, a nursery student from the Sri Chaitanya Star Kids School, entered the lift along with a group of teachers and students.
While a few reports said that there was scuffle between students to get into the lift, the school administration maintained that the girl's head accidentally got stuck into the doors of the lift.
The girl, who suffered severe injuries, died on her way to the hospital.
The DCP of Dilsukh Nagar informed that police have begun its investigation and will take appropriate action against the school administration if any negligence is found on their part.
The agitated parents and residents protested outside the school demanding stern action against the school.
There were confusions on the age of the girl. Initially, media reports claimed that the deceased was 4-year-old, while others reported her to be 3 and 5-year-old.
Arrest
Following the protest of parents, police registered a case under Indian Penal Code section for causing death by negligence. The police has taken the principal of the school into their custody
