How to Update Mobile Number on Driving Licence Using Aadhaar OTP

The Ministry of Road Transport has advised all driving licence holders to connect their mobile numbers with their licences using Aadhaar verification. This initiative is designed to facilitate smooth access to transport services and ensure timely notifications about challans, registration renewals, and insurance updates.

"All licence holders are requested to link or update their mobile numbers for their driving licences via Aadhaar verification. Please visit parivahan.gov.in and complete the online process. If already updated, kindly ignore," stated the Ministry's recent message. This effort targets drivers and vehicle owners across the country, aiming to prevent delays and fraud while enhancing digital transport services.

Steps for Mobile Number Update

To update your mobile number online, go to parivahan.gov.in. Select the option for updating your mobile number through Aadhaar verification. You will need to enter details such as your driving licence number, date of birth, vehicle registration number, or chassis number. Complete the OTP verification via Aadhaar and submit to finalise the process.

Linking Licence via Sarathi Portal

For linking your driving licence through the Sarathi portal, scan the QR code or access the relevant page on the portal. Enter your licence number, date of birth, state name, and captcha code. Verify using an Aadhaar OTP and click Submit to complete the process.

Updating mobile numbers is crucial as failing to do so might lead to missing important updates regarding challans, insurance renewals, or other transport services. The government has encouraged vehicle owners to finish this process quickly to avoid any service interruptions.
