Ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, the bureaucracy in Uttar Pradesh has seen multiple shake-ups. On Wednesday, Yogi's government transferred 140 more officials. Among the officers transferred on Wednesday was senior superintendent of police of Saharanpur district. SSP Love Kumar had been in the news for stopping a procession backed by BJP MLA Raghav Lakhanpal. As expected sparks flew after violence broke out after the procession was stopped and the issue escalated to a full-fledged standoff between the police officer and the politician. BJP supporters staged protests outside the officer's house with the MLA calling the officer 'useless'. The officer's house was also attacked leaving his family scared. The incident was criticised by the Indian Poilice Service association. The MLA vowed to get the SSP transferred.

Kumar was transferred but was posted as the chief of police in Gautam Budh Nagar. The coveted post is considered a prized posting which no officer would be disappointed with. With one smooth move, Adityanath demolished the standoff between his MLA and the police officer while causing no insult to anyone. The MLA got his wish of transferring the officer and the officer has received a coveted posting.

Saharanpur's District Magistrate Shafakat Kamal, who worked with Kumar has also been transferred but yet again as a special secretary in the state's rural development department.
