How many seats will BJP win in Gujarat? Check IB report

The IB says that there were some minor hiccups for the party, but overall the mood is positive in favour of the BJP.

Two opinion polls in the past two days has given the BJP a big edge over all its rivals in the Gujarat assembly elections 2017. The India-Today Axis My India opinion poll said that the BJP would win anything between 115-125 seats.

On Wednesday the Times Now-VMR poll said that the BJP is likely to bag 118-134 seats. The Congress on the other hand would bag 49-61 seats, the poll also said.

Ahead of elections, the Intelligence agencies too carry out a poll. A report by the IB gives BJP the clear edge in Gujarat. It says that the BJP would better its performance this year when compared to the 2012 elections.

The IB says that the BJP is likely to win in the range of 125 to 134 seats. The IB also says that the BJP is likely to poll between 52 to 53 per cent of the votes this year. During the last elections, the BJP had polled 48 per cent of the votes.

The IB says that there were some minor hiccups for the party, but overall the mood is positive in favour of the BJP. Moreover the people too want the same party ruling both in the Centre and the state, the IB also says.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people of Gujarat still find favour. The Times Now-VMR survey had said that 81 per cent of the respondents had said that they would continue to vote for the BJP. The survey also noted that there was a drop in the BJP's projected performance when compared to 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The drop is in the vote share, the survey said. In 2014, the vote share was at 60 per cent while in 2017 52 per cent has been projected.
