According to the woman's complaint, the four accused engaged in acts of molestation and harassment against her and two other female employees on December 17 and December 19. On December 17, the accused allegedly molested the women, while on December 19, they subjected them to verbal abuse and threats, including the threat of job removal if they refused to comply with their unreasonable demands.
Police Action and Legal Proceedings
In response to the woman's complaint, the police have registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). The accused individuals have been booked and bound down under Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC). Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
NCW and DCW Take Action
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has strongly condemned the incident and demanded swift action against the accused. The commission has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Delhi, to submit an action-taken report and a copy of the First Information Report (FIR) within two days. Additionally, the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued notices to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Burari and the Medical Superintendent of Burari Government Hospital, seeking an action-taken report within three days.
