Horrific Accident on Agra-Lucknow Expressway: Car Rams Into Truck, Killing 6 Including 5 Doctors

In a devastating event on the Agra-Lucknow expressway, a grave collision claimed the lives of six individuals, five of whom were doctors, and left another severely injured. The mishap unfolded near the 196-kilometre mark in the Tirva Kotwali area of Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district. It occurred early on Wednesday morning when a car, carrying the victims from Lucknow back to Saifai, veered out of control and smashed into an oncoming truck.

The car was reportedly speeding when it tragically breached a divider, leading to the fatal encounter with the truck. Among those who perished in this heart-wrenching accident, five were esteemed medical professionals associated with Saifai Medical College. The authorities are currently delving into the specifics of the accident to pinpoint the cause, highlighting the grave consequences of a momentary lapse in attention while driving.

A significant detail emerged regarding the cause of the accident; the driver allegedly fell asleep, which resulted in the vehicle losing control. This critical piece of information underscores the dangers of drowsy driving and the importance of remaining vigilant on the road.

A police official provided further insight into the tragedy, revealing that alongside the five doctors, another individual lost their life. The sole survivor of the accident, identified as Jayveer Singh, is currently receiving critical care at Saifai Medical College. The families of the deceased have been notified, and the victims' bodies have been transported to the morgue for further procedures, as detailed by police spokesperson Surjeet Kushwaha.
