Hopes fade for Grand Alliance in Bihar, breakup inevitable now
There has been pressure mounting on Nitish Kumar to take action against Tejashwi.
The crisis in the Grand Alliance at Bihar continued with there being no breakthrough in the talks between the JD(U) and RJD. The much hyped meeting between Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar and his deputy Tejashwi Yadav yielded no results.

A meeting of Kumar and Yadav which lasted over 40 minutes appears to have worsened the situation. Kumar sought an explanation from Yadav over the corruption charges and CBI raids against him.

The JD(U) said that it wants the RJD to come clean on the charges. The JD(U)'s Neeraj Kumar said that they wanted a public clarification on the issue. The party's spokesperson, Ajay Alok said that the RJD would need to clear itself in public. Our stand on the issue has not changed, he also said.
Tejashwi Yadav was recently named by the CBI in the land for hotels case. Raids were conducted at his residence. The CBI also raided the residence of Lalu Prasad Yadav and others.
There has been pressure mounting on Nitish Kumar to take action against Tejashwi who is the deputy chief minister of Bihar. However the junior Yadav has refused to step down. Congress President Sonia Gandhi even tried to intervene and resolve the crisis, but there appears to have been no fruitful result. The Congress is part of the Grand Alliance in Bihar.
