Holidays In 2024: Here Is The List Of Gazetted Holiday In India

The year 2024 promises an extended period of leisure with over 15 days of holidays to government employees.

In accordance with the Office Memorandum dated July 3, 2023, all Central Government Administrative Offices situated in Delhi/New Delhi are slated to observe approximately 17 gazetted holidays. Apart from this, there will be a handful of restricted holidays.

It has to be noted that each state will have its calendar of events. Hence, the holidays might vary from state to state. For example, November 1 is celebrated as Kannada Rajyotsava in Karnataka and it is a state holiday, but this is not applicable to the other parts of the country.

However, notable holidays include Holi, Independence Day, Diwali, and Christmas, among others, which allows working-class people a break from their busy schedules.
